Certified Nurse-Midwives provide total women health care:
  • Personalized prenatal care, labor, and birth
  • Postpartum care
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Well-woman care (including Pap smears and breast exams)
  • Menopause care
  • Birth control
  • Treatment of illnesses and infections
  • Care for teens
Certified Nurse-Midwives:
  • Have a formal education and are board-certified to practice midwifery.
  • Care for women before, during, and after pregnancy.
  • Can prescribe medications and order tests (including pain medication during labor and birth).
  • Work together with OB/GYN physicians to care for women with high-risk pregnancies or chronic health conditions.
